Needing Spring and All About Christmas?

March 19, 2010 | Updates

So, I’ve been missing for awhile. I think it’s a bit of life and me really needing to see the sun again. Things have been so busy and the weather has been dreary. BUT…I’m seeing the hints of spring and I’m excited!

Anyway, who wants to hear about Christmas? Since I’m so very far behind, I’ll do a little work to catch up. Hope you all don’t mind!

For Christmas this year, Samuel’s special needs class at school put on a program. They worked on it for months and they did such a cute job. They wore antlers while Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer played. They shook little bells while Jingle Bells played. They each took turns telling about their favorite things at Christmas time. The teachers even made all the kids shirts so they were mathing. It was a great little program that they all participated in and I was very impressed. And afterwards, Santa came and gave them each gifts that their teachers had gotten for them. Santa did a really great job and in the end, it turned out that the young man who played Santa had Down Syndrome - so neat!

Here’s a picture of Samuel with one of his classroom aides…

We also had another visit from Santa right before Christmas in our home. It was a fun little party and each of the kids got a turn on Santa’s lap…

And then, of course, there was the annual picture in the boy’s new Christmas pajamas…

And, the best of all, Christmas morning (and opening presents with grandparents a few days later)…

I’m sure you can tell we had a fun time! Here’s to hoping you all did, too.

Love,

The Jewkes

  1. I love new posts! I don’t care how long ago they happened. It’s always nice to catch up with my favorite fam. Looks like it was a good holiday! And, amen on needing Spring! I’m going nuts being cooped up! Here’s to lots of sunny days sometime soon . . .

  2. Thank you for the update, Teresa. It’s wonderful to hear our little guy laughing. He is such a delight!

Don’t you think Saumel’s laughing is a therapeutic thing for him? It ought to help him get better in other areas.

    Lots of love,
    Mom

  3. So wonderful to see the update and how fantastic Samuel looks!!! My prayers continue to you and your family.
