We got it!

Approval for Samuel’s new bed…
Yea!
It will take 4-6 weeks for it to be built so we probably won’t see it until November, but that’s ok.
Now I just need to figure out how I’m going to fit it in his room :).
Minor detail.
In the meantime, I put a new mattress in Samuel’s crib that is really firm and snug so he can’t get his legs under it again. Samuel HATES it and is sleeping less and wiggling more, but we couldn’t risk injury from the one he was comfortable on. So, we’re anxiously awaiting the new bed.
But it will be so cool!
Ours will have an IV pole attached, windows in the headboard and footboard and a mattress that raises at the head and feet and that moves up and down as a whole to help with changing and transfers. AND, it will be WAY CUTER because I already bought rolls and rolls of fabric to cover the padding with and make a dust ruffle and use for cute sheets, etc. Samuel’s getting a whole room makeover and it will be so FUN! I may even let Wes paint a mural on the wall! (We’ll see how brave I get because I really don’t like murals, but Wes’ painting skills are just too good to be ignored.)
Can you tell I’m excited?
(Here’s to hoping all the people I recruit to do the sewing are excited, too :)!

It sure took long enough! Looks like a really nice bed: partly utilitarian and partly fun/comfy. I’m not sure how I missed seeing this update, since you wrote it Sept. 1. But I’m glad I saw it now! I hope Samuel enjoys the bed once it arrives, and I hope it arrives sooner than you expect!

Wow! That bed rocks! Colby is sleeping on a therapy mat on the floor. He likes it at least but I wish we had a bed for him. Where did you order it from or are you having it built and how did you get it approved because I think I missed that post!
